Don't pay for this substack

Payment is barred

Some of my friends paid to subscribe to this substack. Thank you! I was moved. Unfortunately substack’s payment processor Stripe believes those payments were fraudulent, and they’ve barred me from receiving any money. Any payments made will be refunded.

I’ve appealed twice and lost. It’s strange since I know everyone who donated and I’ve asked them if anything was weird about the transaction. They all said it was fine.

Stripe gives no explanation, and I have no idea if an actual person has read my letter explaining the situation. They just say:

After reviewing your account again, we’ve confirmed that your business represents a higher risk than we can currently support.

and:

After a further review of your business, we’ve determined that we still won’t be able to accept payments for your business moving forward…

We’re sorry we can’t be of more help, but these restrictions are firm.
